Find Your Perfect Skincare Solutions with Teal Botanicals

In the quest to figure out what’s really in your beauty products and what they do not only to your skin but to the planet, it’s good to know that there are brands you can truly trust. A new brand to add to your list is Teal Botanicals – a New York City-based beauty brand that makes organic, vegan and cruelty-free products for the face and body. Ideal for conscious skincare consumers and those with allergies, the products are formulated without petrolatum, formaldehyde, mineral oil, triethanolamine, synthetic fragrances, parabens, sulfates and other concerning or toxic chemicals. Teal Botanicals aims to deliver simple, healthy and effective natural beauty products, while keeping in mind the future of our planet. The products are handmade using specialised techniques to lessen the use of natural preservatives and are packaged mostly in reusable eco-friendly glass containers.

On how she decided to create her own skincare products, Teal’s founder Carmela D. Lerner says: “I was in the habit of wearing many different skincare products and have been doing so for years. These products range from drugstore brands to the pricey luxury labels. They have a long list of ingredients with synthetic-sounding names, because they are using a cocktail of synthetic chemicals, preservatives, and fragrances. I started to be conscious and aware of looking up each ingredient, and it was not always easy to digest all of it. If you’re in the pursuit of wellness, not only should we keep on being aware of what’s getting into our bodies but also, we should be mindful of what we put on our bodies. As a healthcare provider, we’ve encouraged health promotion and the prevention of diseases. Therefore, it is equally important to pay close attention to labels because these ingredients make their way into our body systems as well. My background in these areas includes studies in a botanical care products certification program, aromatherapy certification, and attendance on facial aesthetic training for medical professionals in New York City.”

Carmela was inspired by the natural ingredients her family would use to make their own beauty products. “Growing up in my home country, the Philippines, my parents would buy grated coconut from the marketplace and make a concoction for my sister and me for our hair and skin. My family has also used bamboo charcoal, mangosteen oil, aloe vera leaves and gel to name a few. I want to go back to these basic ideas where I can formulate and wear, simple yet effective natural skincare with carefully chosen ingredients, thus the creation of Teal. Teal is a personal favourite colour. It is synonymous to water, relaxation, and serenity.”

Teal’s skincare range includes a core collection of products for the face and the body, designed for all skin types. Whatever your skincare concern, there’s sure to be an ideal solution in Teal’s range.
