Win a Copy of Vegan Style, The New Book on Vegan Fashion

So…I wrote a book.

It’s crazy to even be writing these words here, as writing a book has been a lifelong dream for me like it is for most other writers. And after having created Vilda, a pioneering voice in the world of vegan fashion, I knew that my first book had to be guide to glamorous vegan living. A dream that has now become reality, with help from my amazing publisher, Murdoch Books.

Vegan fashion was still very much an unknown concept when I launched this publication. People wouldn’t even understand what I meant when I told them that I was launching a vegan fashion magazine. “What does that even mean, vegan fashion? Can you eat the clothes? Is there meat in shoes?” were some of the most frequent reactions I got. But Vilda was ahead of its time: these days, vegan fashion is taking its place in the fashion industry spotlight. Brands like Chanel, Burberry and Gucci are proudly proclaiming that they are fur-free. Hugo Boss is making shoes from pineapple leaves. And we even have a Vegan Fashion Week – the first-ever event premiered in February this year in Los Angeles. The movement is growing, and the book will hopefully show the way to all fashion lovers whose curiosity has been piqued by these new developments, or who are worried about fashion’s impact on our planet, or those who, having been awakened by the information around what happens to animals in the fashion industry, want to stop wearing them.

Vegan Style: Your Plant-Based Guide to Fashion + Beauty + Home + Travel is the first-ever book on vegan living that has no food content at all. Instead, it is filled with beautiful visual, style tips, information on cruelty-free beauty, vegan travel destinations and advice on how to decorate your home the cruelty-free way. It washes away the tired old stereotype of the strict, joyless vegan whose knowledge of fashion extends no further than “comfortable” shoes and un-dyed hemp dresses. It highlights the expertise of designers, influencers and change-makers around the globe who work every day to make the fashion industry a kinder, more mindful place. It’s a celebration of cruelty-free fashion and a guide for those who are looking to live a kinder, more compassionate yet stylish life.

There is nothing I want more than to share the book with more of Vilda’s readers – after all, you are the reason why I first wrote it, to offer information and inspiration to those who care about personal style without compromising their ethics – and that is the exact thought behind this magazine. As I prepare to see this book being released out into the world (a crazy feeling!), I wanted to offer one reader the chance to win a copy, to say thanks for reading Vilda during these years, but also to share the message in this new and very exciting form. We’ve done many giveaways here on Vilda but this will always be the one that’s closest to my heart, for obvious reasons. I can’t wait to see what the winner thinks of the book!

  1. I’m already following your magazine on Fb and Instagram, but I am still trying my luck with the giveaway. Can’t wait to read the book! 🙂

  2. I’m excited to read this book as I’ve just donated all my leather shoes, belts and bags, wool jumpers and socks, down jackets, and I am keen to learn more about vegan fashion and how to build my new cruelty-free wardrobe! I’m new to makeup too and even though everything I use in skincare is already cruelty-free, I want to read more about vegan beauty 🙂 Can’t wait to read this book – it’s the first book I’ve heard on vegan fashion + beauty + home + travel and it sounds amazing!

  3. Entering for the contest! I’m so excited for this book, but since I’m in the US I can only pre-order it for November! Hopefully the contest is open to Americans. 🙂

  4. Thanks to Katy Beskow I’ve jyst heard of Vilda today, so it would be great to win the book to expand my vegan fashion knowledge 😁🌱
