The Best Looks From Vegan Fashion Week

A vegan fashion week – unimaginable only a few short years ago, an exciting and interesting reality today. Last weekend, fashion stylist, creative director and animal advocate Emmanuelle Rienda brought her much-awaited project, Vegan Fashion Week, out to the Los Angeles public for the very first time.

Showcasing such innovations as a cape made from pineapple-leaf leather Pinatex, shoes crafted from melted corn, designs in apple leather, exotic skins made from cork and eco-friendly faux fur from Ecopel, Rienda and her team truly hit it out of the ballpark, treating the audience – including stars like Moby and Mena Suvari – to an unforgettable experience that was the first of its kind.

“I created a collective runway with curated designer pieces from across the globe to show vegan alternatives that are ethical, sustainable and elevated,” says Vegan Fashion Week creator Emmanuelle Rienda.

Designers featured in the show included Dr. Martens, Matea Benedetti, Noemie Devime, Altiir, Bayem, Ecopel, Enda, New Rock, Mink Shoes, Mistohn, Sarah Regensburger, Chloe Trujillo, Vegan Club, WastedLA and Arsayo.

We hand-picked some of our favourite men’s and women’s looks from the event – and while doing so, we were truly impressed at how far the innovation of the vegan fashion movement has come. Enjoy the show.
