Natural Fabrics, the Cruelty-Free Way: Introducing Ecolade

Every time a new vegan fashion brand launches, we’re happy to follow its story and development – even more so with newly founded Australian label Ecolade. Why? Because in addition to being 100% cruelty-free, these accessories are crafted in envinronmentally kind materials, eliminating the conflict between animal-friendly and sustainable.

While faux leather materials have come an incredibly long way since their pleather past, if you prefer to go au naturel with your accessories, Ecolade has the solution: they are re-imagining eco fabrics such as jute, canvas and denim, working them into totes, handbags and wallets that translate beautifully into accessories for everyday life.

Most of Ecolade’s designs are produced in India – the jute bags are crafted from raw jute and then waxed for water resistance. Recycled denim and recycled vegan leather also feature heavily in Ecolade’s production, proving that innovation and sustainability are high on this brand’s agenda.

Some of our favourite styles include the intricately worked, colourful wallets – these are made by hand in India from recycled clothing, giving it not only an eco edge but also a truly unique touch.

See a few Vilda favourites below, and head to Ecolade.com.au to discover them for yourself.
