As those warm and lazy summer days roll to an end, days get shorter and sun dresses get tossed aside in favour of cosy scarves, we get ready to start fresh: September represents a clean slate with fresh, “anything-can-happen” energy.
My autumn resolutions are simple: live healthy. Try to stress less. And most importantly, make big things happen with this magazine.
This is why I’m so happy and proud to say that Vilda is featured in the September issue of GLAMOUR Germany! I was contacted not so long ago for the interview and am beyond proud to see the name of our project in such an important context – in a country like Germany, where veganism is rapidly expanding.
Big things are happening for this magazine, and we’re not even one year old yet. But the real reason why I’m excited every time Vilda gets media attention isn’t because of all the hard work me and my team put into it (well, that too) but because it shows that mainstream media is more interested in veganism and cruelty-free living than ever.
Change is possible – if an attractive alternative is provided. We can’t change people’s minds by only trying to scare, depress and guilt them into dropping animal products. What we also have to do is show them how beautiful, stylish, interesting, delicious and fully fulfilling vegan living can be. We have to remember that we’re walking advertisements for our lifestyle – living joyfully and beautifully is the best thing we can do for veganism. This magazine was born from that desire. And nothing is more proof of the fact that we’re succeeding than mainstream media picking up on it.
In the interview, I talk about how Vilda was started, mention some of my favourite fashion and beauty brands (Beyond Skin, Jill Milan, LUSH and Oh! Organics, to name a few), as well as advise readers on clever shopping and wardrobe-building. I really hope that the interview will reach people that have trouble finding cruelty-free options and lead them to Vilda. I hope it piques the interest of those already contemplating veganism or vegetarianism. I hope it makes someone Google the brands I mentioned. I hope that more people join us in making a change.
