As cruelty-free shoppers, we may not only be struggling for choices…but also for fashion inspiration. Streetstyle stars and style bloggers rarely venture outside without a trace of leather or wool (or silk, if we’re talking summer). Flipping through fashion magazines, it’s easy to get the impression that “everyone” is wearing animal products. While fur is (quite rightly!) frowned upon, other nonvegan ingredients, such as leather, are as frequent as chunky heels and round hipster specs. As a result, cruelty-free fashionistas have had to become their own style inspirations. Which has, in turn, led to an amazing new crop of vegan blogs – some of them (surprise!) even specialising in fashion.
We rounded up a few of our favourite vegan fashionistas that are turning heads on blogs and Instagram feeds all over the world…and we’re not just talking the vegan world. Here are the girls that will have the style elite reaching for faux-leather heels faster than you can say “Stella McCartney”.

Elle Howard and Rylee-Breen Maver
The social media queens behind Bruce Heart are showing that looking edgy and living compassionately is very possible. The stylish Aussie duo model their own fashions on their website – no need to hire models here! – and their latest collaboration with Beagle Freedom Project had us reaching for our wallets. Compassionate and cool? Yes please.

Jessica Schlueter
Founder of The Tree Kisser website and online store, Californian activist Jessica has graced the pages of Vilda before – we love her effortless style and dedication to compassion. She’s not afraid to speak the truth – and she looks fierce while doing so. On our wish list: one of her bright pink hoodies.

Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart
The game-changing designer created Vaute Couture by spotting a gap in the market – and in fact, hers are still among the very few vegan coats with a high style factor. Not only does Leanne deliver some of our favourite winter coats – she also makes sure her fashions are eco-friendly and locally produced. And she looks amazing in her own coats and tees. Style crush alert.

Morgan Bogle
She designs drool-worthy bags (to rival Celine and Balenciaga) for her label Freedom of Animals…and we also love her Instagram feed, mainly for the pictures of her dog. Former stylist Morgan embodies effortless New York style – and we want to dress just like her.

Corrie Feld
It’s not often you come across a true vegan street-style star – but Corrie Feld, author of the blog Brooklyn Bliss, is just that. Daring and colourful, she always looks cutting-edge chic. The new era of compassionate fashion bloggers starts here.
